The Three Luxury Tents

Snugly tucked away between Kersbos and Taaibos, the bigger bushes amongst a host of other indigenous flora. Surrounded by a galaxy filled with a celebration of stars. Sunsets that is sure to quiet even the most verbose chatterbox in absolute awe.  Then there is the peace at night, the crashing waves that will lullaby you to dreamland and guarantee a well-rested, recouped and refreshed new person in the morning.

All three luxury tents, Fork North, Middle Fork and Fork South are in top condition, clean, beautifully kept and very practically planned. Fully prepared with everything you need for a stress-free, relaxing, tranquil, comfortable stay.

Equipped with electricity, comfortable double bed, fresh clean bedding, fully functional kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle and catering utensils, including braai utensils and en-suite bathroom with towels and toiletries. Extra bonuses you can expect to find in your luxury tent includes a picnic basket, torch, umbrella, hangers and a hairdryer.

The private braai area gives local and foreign guests the opportunity to experience a true South African braai, and here they braai-in-style, in the comfort of their own space under a milky way painted canvas. No need to worry if you are low on wood supply, Rashid got you sorted. Simply let him know and he will deliver more wood to your luxury tent.

Fork South Luxury Tent has an adjacent tent with two single beds, sharing the bathroom with the main luxury tent.

The luxury tents are situated behind a sand dune approximately 500 meters walk from an unspoiled 40km stretch of beach which will mesmerise you into long walks and give your furry friends plenty time to sniff away and leave their paw prints in the sand.

The Transport

The use of 4×4 vehicles are advised and it is strongly recommended, when arriving at reception, that all tyres be deflated to .8 bars.

But, no worries if you are not travelling in a 4×4 or comfortable braving the sandy road from reception to your luxury tent, Cheetah, the loyal orange Landover is ready and willing to transport you, your furry friends and luggage to your luxury tent.

Feeling a little adventurous, then you will be happy to know that the beach is accessible with a 4×4.


With prior arrangement a 400 meters long private airstrip is available for light aircrafts, especially for STOL aircraft, offering those avid pilots a secluded hideaway. If your space is limited self-catering (eating and drinking) needs can be supplied.

The People (and the Pets)

Reinhard and Theresa, the owners of West Coast Luxury Tents, are two amazing, friendly hands-on people who are always willing to go the extra mile for guests. They have stories to share that will entertain you for days on end. Understanding exactly how much a quiet, tranquil atmosphere is needed in today’s hustle and bustle, Reinhard and Theresa created the perfect escape.

Rashid, the caretaker and manager of West Coast Luxury Tents, is known for his friendly, humble demeanour, willingness to help, and excellent management of the tents. Rashid continuously receives wonderful feedback from guests. There is nothing Rashid would not do to make your stay as memorable as possible.

Sophia, the friendly furry lady boss and her pup, Dipstick, love welcoming furry guests and will receive them in their special kind-hearted welcoming spirits. West Coast Luxury Tents are pet-friendly, so no need to worry about pet-sitting when visiting.

The Surrounds

The last stop to properly stock for your getaway is Velddrif, after that shops are scarce, make sure you stock up on vino, snacks and all the rest.

Doing some road tripping while visiting, why not stop at Die Rooi Granaat Restaurant (bookings essential, contact Evert at 072 901 9133) in Aurora or Russells on the Port settled in a peaceful and tranquil location overlooking the Port Owen Marina in Velddrif, both have excellent reviews. Elands Bay Hotel has superb fish & chips, a must try when you are in the area.

Elands Bay, known for crayfish fishing, diving and of course surfing. It is said to have the best left-hand break during winter months in South Africa. The town is also famous for the Elands Bay Rock Art Cave, situated above Baboon Point on the mountain above Elands Bay Beach. You will find the most beautiful cave paintings done by Bushmen who lived in this area thousands of years ago.

For bird lovers there is the nearby Verloren Vlei and Rocherpan Nature Reserve both areas known for its birdlife and spectacular views.

Things to Pack

The luxury tents are self-catering, so remember to bring all your food and vino for the weekend. For some protection from those UV rays a beach umbrella is a good idea, together with enough sunblock, camera, binoculars, flipflops, swimming towels, a good book or two.

Bringing those furry friends along on your visit? Remember to bring their bedding, food and bowls for both food and water. Bedding and bowls can be provided on prior arrangement.
